August/September 2015 - More Paris

Dear Lovely Man,

I've just finished cleaning the kitchen which reminded me of this...

The infamous scone loaf cake and the aftermath. It seems like forever ago that I was actually taking care of two little girls. It's only been 3 and a bit months! But I suppose that also means we've been here that long and that, to me, feels like ages.

This is the package you sent me when I was feeling low being without any money. Proper coffee!! It was in that little garret that you convinced me ground coffee was way better than the instant stuff. Remember buying our little cafetieres? Lime green and purple?

The view before the scaffolding and Dennis appeared to keep me up in the mornings. Bloody Dennis.

My infamous baking part 2. Not a scone loaf this time. More like scone crackers. You were hidden upstairs when I was making these. I quite liked hiding you away up there. It was so comforting to know you were there.

This was when we first had the falafels from that famous place, I think. Although we preferred the place just down the street from them and went back there quite a few times. And those houseboats!

My girls dancing in the rain. I didn't know it then but we were just about to go down the wrong street and get slightly lost.

Paris feels like a whole lifetime ago doesn't it? But right now I have my lovely candle burning (the one you got me in Edinburgh) and the cat is flopped out on my lap. I think I much prefer my life now.

Forever and always. I love you.

August/September 2015 - First Few Days In Paris

Dear Lovely Man,

It was the hardest thing when you left me in Paris. To think we had spent so much time together for months and months - as much time as we possibly could - and then you had to leave. I was properly heartbroken!

The view from the hovel/garret I called home.

One of the first days I went out after you'd gone home. I went to the Jardin du Luxembourg and sat in one of the little green metal chairs and read my Kindle. Remember I got approached by a random man and started chatting to him about books and other such cultured things? Ah, Paris...

I also had bare legs! In September! Madness!

The original cosy corner. Soon to be changed many, many times over the course of my stay.

The view. Right in the flight path.

I walked along the Seine and took some rather fabulous photos.

How could we possibly forget the conversation exchange men??!!

Anyway, I've been typing this with the cat on my lap waiting for you to get home from work and I'm getting cramp. He won't budge!!

Forever and always. I love you.

August 2015 - Moving To Paris

Dear Lovely Man,

Remember that time we lived in Paris?

On the ferry to Calais. Realising this was for real!

The campsite that stole my heart. So peaceful. Remember how we were almost the only people there?

Our excellent, excellent tent. Sleeps 4. Or 2 very large people on an air mattress.

Campsite kitchen.

This was the summer you introduced me to beer. Convert.

I loved this time we spent together. It was so calm and chilled (apart from the drive to find a supermarket in Pontoise...) and it was exactly what we needed before the scary stuff started!

Forever and always. I love you.
